United Airlines A320 - N404UA - PlaneTag - White/Dark Blue
First flown in 1987, the Airbus A320 introduced groundbreaking innovations that reshaped modern airline operations, including digital fly by wire flight controls and side stick controllers. These advancements helped make the A320 one of the most successful commercial aircraft families in aviation history.
United Airlines placed its first A320 order in 1992 as part of a major fleet modernisation effort. The aircraft became a key part of United’s narrow body operations, flying short and medium haul routes from hubs across the airline’s network.
N404UA entered service in December 1993 and flew for nearly 30 years. Over its career, the aircraft accumulated more than 90,000 flight hours and approximately 35,000 cycles. Its final revenue flight took place on July 15, 2023, and it was retired to Tupelo Regional Airport on July 18, 2023.
Before the aircraft was scrapped, MotoArt carefully preserved sections of its original skin. Those pieces now live on as authentic PlaneTags, each one carrying the wear and character earned through decades of service
