The XH558 was part of the Avro Vulcan fleet, first taking off in 1960. Designed as a nuclear deterrent during the Cold War, the Vulcan was a cutting-edge aircraft for its time. With its sleek delta-wing design and powerful Rolls-Royce Olympus engines, it could fly higher and faster than most bombers of its era.
This strategic bomber not only served the Royal Air Force for 63 years but also won the hearts of millions with its thunderous airshow displays until 2015.
