Building this fighter model is a rewarding experience, and a lesson in history, technology and precision.

Key features of the F-16 Fighting Falcon (Norwegian Air Force) set:

Product under the original Lockheed Martin license - This model is manufactured under the original license of the American manufacturer, guaranteeing a faithful reproduction,

Compact, yet packed with substance - The model consists of 495 pieces, each carefully crafted to best capture the proportions, shape and distinctive features of the F-16 Fighting Falcon.

Weaponry - The model includes replicas of the original weapons. These include AIM-120 AMRAAM and IRIS-T air-to-air missiles, GBU-12 Paveway II bombs and an ALQ-131 ECM electronic countermeasures pod.

F-16 in the Royal Norwegian Air Force
Norway was one of the pioneers in the European F-16 procurement and co-production program. On July 21, 1975, together with Belgium, the Netherlands, and Denmark, it signed an agreement for the purchase of modern multi-role fighters. The choice fell on the American F-16 Fighting Falcon project, which revolutionised modern aviation with its manoeuvrability, modern avionics and relatively low operating costs.

Over four decades of service!
Norwegian F-16s stood out from other aircraft of this type with their light gray paint scheme, the Norwegian flag on the tail, and a unique numbering system linked to American numbers. Norway's short and snow-covered runways, often located in scattered locations, required their F-16s to be equipped with drag parachutes to cope with situations where regular wheel brakes could not be used.

This set combines high-quality craftsmanship, attention to detail and a fascinating history that you can literally build with your own hands.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon model in Norwegian colours from COBI is a great choice for military aviation fans, collectors, and contemporary history enthusiasts. It's not only a striking display piece, but also a valuable educational toy.

Whether you're a teenager, an adult modeller or looking for the perfect gift for someone, this set will be a great choice.

For over four decades of service, Norwegian F-16s participated in many key international operations under NATO auspices, including Kosovo, Afghanistan, Libya and patrolling the airspace of the Baltic States as part of NATO's Baltic Air Policing.

After 42 years of service, the last operational flight of the Norwegian F-16 took place on January 6, 2022. Although the aircraft were retired from active service, many remained operational and found a second life – some ended up in Romania, others were sold to training companies.
