Haynes & Cann Limited - Approved Pilot Footwear: Designing and supplying pilots with a footwear heritage since the days of the Royal Flying corps during World War 1.
The traditional supplier of RAF Flight boots since 1943, the Haynes and Cann 65 Pilot boot was used on all aircraft platforms, and is available again

Like never before, Haynes and Cann flight boots are no longer limited to military personnel, and can be purchased new by individual pilots and commercial organisations.
The original Haynes & Cann Ltd was formed in August 1919, and was part of the famous Northampton shoe making industry beofre WWII. During WWII Haynes and Cann were selected by the MoD to provide footwear to all aircrews, and these contracts continued after the war, through the cold war and into the new millenium

HRH Prince Andrew was wearing the 1965  boot style at Port Stanley post Falklands War 1982 where he served as a pilot on NAS 820 anti submarine squadron along with the current director of Haynes and Cann Company.

The Type 65 were designed for flight crew, and to allow them to fly an aircraft in comfort, and without any points that might catch in the cockpit or exiting quickly from the cockpit. The boots were also remownd for their comfort. The boots themselves reduced the fatigue associated with long flights in enclosed spaces and helped to correct poor foot position.

Features:

  • The boots are flame resistant, Oil and grease resistant, Breathable, Water resistant with approved anti FOD ( foreign object damage sole pattern).
  • With 100% A1 2mm cowhide uppers and kid leather lining for maximum comfort and warmth.
  • Designed for use on both rotary and fixed wing aircraft.
  • Recommended socks: knitted flameproof nomex and insole.

Military-approved:

We currently produce to the original military (MoD) specification.
The only change is the addition of the side zip, which has been well received by our customers as a quick-release safety aspect.

You will find the boots very well made, very comfortable, and flexible enough to the extent you'll know these have been designed just for aviation
