For use on your Laptop or PC - Learning Morse Code remains an integral part of any pilot's training so the 'Morse Cracker' is an invaluable tool to help you. The 'Morse Cracker' gives you three tools for getting to grips with dots and dashes.
First the 'Text to Code' option allows you to input a letter of the alphabet and the computer replies with the morse conversion. Secondly the 'Mouse Key' invites you to tap out a letter or two and the computer tells you if your technique is accurate or not.
This is useful practice for ensuring your dots don't sound like dashes and vice versa. Importantly also the 'Practice Option' gives the facility to tap out a letter or two and then gives you the chance to work it out before the answer is displayed - perfect for making you know which NDB/ILS/VOR is which! Simple installation!
Morse Code is an aural language, consisting of an audio tone which is keyed on and off in a predetermined manner to represent letters, figures and punctuation.
Each character is represented as a sound pattern - an indivisible unit of long (DAH) and short (DIT) tones.
Letters and words are distinguished by the timing between each group of tones and the next.
