Listen to the birds is a new guide to HF Airband listening. Air band on both the HF and VHF bands is steadily increasing in popularity, with many enthusiasts beginning their interest by listening to local traffic on VHF and then becoming curious as to what happens when the aircraft is out of VHF range. The lack of technical detail is deliberate, as the author believes that the average listener will have no interest in the technical specifications of receivers, they will just want to listen. The lack of a computer is no barrier to the enjoyment of short wave radio listening, however if one wishes to decode the various data transmissions, then a computer is mandatory.
Listen to the birds, newly launched in Spring 2004 will be a useful tool in pursuing the hobby of listening to world wide aeronautical stations.
