• Important information about airfields, such as frequency, runway, fuel and altitude info can be retrieved directly either by using the airfield code or the common name.
• Custom airfields and waypoints can also be added to the system .
• When you have selected the destination, the system automatically calculates a basic route and displays it on the map.
  

Touchscreen Route Planning

• You can plan your complete flight on the FlyAngel. When you select a destination, Flymap will draw a line straight to it. You can then scroll the screen with your finger and insert new waypoints, by pressing on the screen, to avoid obstacles and restricted airspace.
  

Track, Bearing

• An arrow on the map shows the direction of your destination. A second bar shows how far off track you are.
• If you prefer a classical Track and Bearing display, you can switch to it at any time.
• The system displays your distance to the destination and to the next route point. It will also give an ETA to both waypoints and destination.
  

Speed Vector and Flight Information

• In front of the aircraft, a speed vector line shows where the aircraft will be in five minutes.
• The FlyAngel also displays other useful flight information such as Distance/Time to destination, airspeed, height and altitude.
  

Airfield Information

• A pilot needs to have information at his or her fingertips and the FlyAngel literally gives you that. Comprehensive airfield information can be accessed either through the navigation planning menu, or by pressing the airfield on the map.
  

Charting

• The FlyAngel comes as standard with the three UK CAA 1:500,000 scale charts, but can incorporate almost any map within reason so that you can always fly with a map that is familiar to you. The FlyAngel can also be expanded with Jeppesen European charts. On the system, the charts can be scrolled and zoomed for optimum view.
  

Terrain Height Display

• The FlyAngel has built-in terrain awareness. With the Terrain Warning switched on, the FlyAngel will automatically colour the display according to the relative height of the terrain. Red represents terrain within 100 vertical feet and yellow represents terrain within 500 vertical feet of current altitude. The user can also select to display a box on screen with the aircraft's approximate height above the ground.
  

Airspace Warning

• If you are heading for controlled airspace, the system brings up a box containing information on the airspace such as distance, class and upper and lower limit information. It also outlines the restricted airspace clearly in red.
  

Nearest Airfield

• If you need to get back to the ground quickly, FlyAngel has a special button which display's a list of the nearest airfields together with distances and bearings. Pressing on any of these airfields will immediately divert your route to the selected airfield.
  

Automatic Flight Logging

• A log of all of flights is kept on the FlyAngel. The system also has the option of recording flights on a second by second basis. Users of FlyAngel Professional can replay these flight on Flymap Win and in 3D Google Earth.
  

Digital Checklists

• With digital checklists you can be sure that you don't miss anything when you're preparing the aircraft. The list is easy to input either on the system or in Flymap Win (For FlyAngel Professional users). Cycling through the checklists is also easy as you simply tap each instruction as it's done.
