Additional Product Information
Ultimate
Navigation Solution
The Flymap system is a sophisticated, yet
simple to use navigation solution for general aviation.
The ultra-bright
display (over 1000cd/m²) can be read even in direct, bright sunlight. We
are very proud that customers often tell us that they can't believe how simple
the system is to use, despite its plethora of features.
Touchscreen
Operated
All functions including route planning are
handled through the touchscreen. Large buttons and menus ensure that it is easy
to use even if the user has large fingers and is in a high vibration
environment.
North Up or Course Up Display
You can choose between
two map displays: North Up and Course Up..
When
you select Course Up, the map will circle around the airplane
symbol. The system will place the aircraft near to the bottom of the screen.
Advantage: The visible area ahead of the airplane is maximised.
When the North Up display is selected you will see the map
in the conventional orientation with the aircraft symbol rotating instead of
the map.
Advantage: Conventional layout is simple to understand.
Terrain Display
Flymap can give a visual
indication of the height of surrounding terrain. The terrain display activates
as soon as the height above ground falls below 500ft.
Yellow
Areas: The height above ground is between 100ft and 500ft
Red Areas: The height above ground is below 100ft, or the
terrain is higher than your current flight level
Restricted Airspace
Warning
Flymap will warn you as you
approach airspace restricted at (or close to) current altitude and give
information such as class, distance and the levels over which the zone applies.
