Performance

Exxon Elite 20W-50 has been designed to provide ahigh level of rust and corrosion protection. The powerfuldispersant utilized keeps the engine parts, the turbochargerbearings, the propeller hub and dome, etc... clean of harmfulsludge and varnish deposits. As a multi-viscosity grade, theoil will provide easy starting and fast lubrication of criticalengine parts under low temperature conditions, while offering high lubricant film strength and low wear under hightemperature conditions. Compatibility

Exxon Elite 20W-50 iscompatible with non-dispersantmineral oils as well as with otherashless-dispersant oils that meetthe requirements of MIL-L-22851D/SAE J1899. It can alsobe used in high-time enginesthat have previously used astraight mineral oil. If this isdone, however, it is advisable tocarry out the oil-screeninspection recommended by theengine manufacturer

Run-In Procedure

New or newly overhauled aircraft engines should be brokenin according to the engine builder’s recommendedprocedure. Many engine manufacturers advise running in onstraight mineral oil for the first 25 to 50 hours of operation. Inall cases, however, the engine manufacturer’s recommen-dations should be followed, since the run in procedure canvary from engine to engine.
