This publication covers the requirements for initial issue of a JAA Flight Crew Licence and also the requirements for holders of National Flight Crew Licences wishing to convert to a JAA Licence. For holders of professional flight crew licences additional knowledge of JAR-OPS 1 or 3, aeroplanes or helicopters respectively, is also required which is covered in our sister publication A Guide to JAR-OPS.
