Istanbul’s Attaturk airport is the major gateway to Turkey, but there’s another airport serving the Turkish capital that’s less well known. Opened in 2001, Istanbul’s Sabiha Gokcen airport is steadily attracting more and more users of its superb facilities.

The airport’s low fuel costs and handling charges attract a great mixture of veteran Soviet freighters, gleaming executive jets and some of the latest low-cost airlines. We were given unrestricted access 24 hours a day. The result is a unique DVD that really gives you a sense of being there on the ramp in wonderful sunshine, in a country where aviation photography is not normally encouraged. We’ve been able to give you a detailed look at many of the unusual aircraft featured, including an Air Sirin AN2, a Volga Dnepr AN124 and inside an AN12.
