Pilot's Basics - Basic Math For Pilots
Easy to use and reliable Rules of Thumbs

It is vital to have a good understanding of and be able to confidently use basic mathematics in aviation. Pilots Basics is a helpful summary of most of the known Rules of Thumb and simple forumlae commonly used in aviation - basic aviation knowledge - which will enable us to perform fast, simple and accurate mental calculations.
This book assists in developing and maintaining "Situational Awareness", the knowledge about our situation and position, which allow us to plan ahead easily and quickly "ahead of the aircraft", which in turn enables us to perofrm our duties efficiently and safely. These rules and formulae result in close approximations of the normally required but more complex calculations. The results however are often mathematically absolutely equal. Therefore they shoudl never be a substitute for mandated calculations.
