Chris Finnigan was born into a naval family in Plymouth in 1955. His first flight at the age of 10 was in a De Havilland Dragon Rapide at the Plymouth Air Show and he instantly became hooked. An Air Cadet in both the ATC and Hele School CCF, his first solo was in an open cockpit glider at the age of 16.
