Paramotoring From the Ground Up
A Comprehensive Guide

The first time you see someone strap on a paramotor, start up and fly away from a field, the procedure can seem almost magic. Can the age-old dream of flying really be as accessible as this? Yes it can and you can do it. Flying a paramotor is achievable by anyone who has reasonable physical co-ordination and the patience to learn properly. All this at a fraction of the cost of flying a conventional aircraft or microlight. Sections include - How Does it Fly?, Mastering the Wing, The Air and the Weather, Rules Laws and Airspace and a Training Syllabus. This book will reveal many of the things which will help you to become a safe paramotor pilot and help you to avoid any pitfalls along the way.

Reviewer: PILOT Magazine
"Paramotoring is well laid out, easy to understand, and fully illustrated - a comprehensive and very useful book which deserves to be kept handy by anyone thinking of flying powered paragliders."

Comments

"This book seems to suggest that if you can Paraglide, can cope with the 20-30kg of a paramotor on your back, you can fly a Powered Paraglider, without too much difficulty, having had appropriate training. The book gives instruction on good practice and best technique for handling and flying with a paramotor, regulations on air law, weather etc. I particularly liked the takeoff and landing commentaries and accompaning photographs, which I still read/look at and seem to get more and more from each time. I bought Touching Cloudbase and this book at the same time, however I need not have. Parmotoring covers all the prerequisite Paragliding skills in this one book, including paraglider dynamics, history and weather, basic flying. In essence if you have already done a certain amount of free flight paragliding, and have a free flight book, you will find half of this book a recap on what you already know/read. The Paramotoring aspects will probably be new, however, and help a lot with what to expect from formal PM training and beyond. If you are a prospective pilot who is considering taking up the sport, this book is a good choice with lots of pictures and will likely get you well on the way to being bitten by the flying bug. The book certainly left me wanting a lot more! ."
