About the author Mr. Brown's varied professional experience includes nineteen years as instructor for flight schools of all sizes, along with employment in corporate and scheduled aviation, advertising, industrial design and engineering. Greg earned BS and MFA degrees at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where his major research project was completed at the Aviation Research Laboratory.
He also studied at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and completed advanced flight ratings at Purdue University, where he served as a faculty member. Mr. Brown holds an ATP pilot certificate with Boeing 737 type rating, and Certificated Flight Instructor certificate with all fixed wing aircraft ratings including glider. An active pilot since 1971, Mr. Brown was recently designated the first "Master CFI" by the National Association of Flight Instructors.
