Global Navigation For Pilots
International Flight Techniques & Proceedures

Global Navigation for Pilots, Second Edition by Dale De Remer and Donald McLean Subtitled International Flight Techniques and Procedures, this book has been the definitive textbook on these subjects since 1993.
This updated Second Edition carries on that tradition with new graphics, new text material, and critical information on European flight planning, systems and regulations. Also new to this Second Edition are chapters on Global Positioning Systems technology and its applications, and FANS: Future Air Navigation Systems. Trans-oceanic and long-distance navigation is covered in detail, as are complex technologies such as Flight Management Systems, Inertial Navigation Systems, and LORAN-C. Each topic is explained with the precision required for classroom instruction, while retaining the readability needed for general reference.

With every aspect of pilot navigation-from a discussion of International Civil Aviation Organization history and regulations to planning, flight operations, and navigation equipment-this book is written with the precision required for classroom instruction while retaining the readability needed for a general audience. Explained are aeronautical charts and maps, navigation techniques for plotting and distance measuring, and complex technologies.
