Anatomy Of The Aeroplane
The first of a trilogy of textbooks

Part of the Stinton Trilogy this is a physical textbook of aircraft design which has become neccessary reading for students of aeronautics in universities and colleges throughout the world. Designed to bridge the gap between a theoretical understanding of aeronautical principles and the practical world of aeroplanes, explaining how aircraft are created as a technical response to natural, operational and design requirements - the shaping of an aeroplane is considered in terms of aerodynamics, propulsion, land and water operation and structural arrangement

This text bridges the gap between aeronautical principles and the practical world of aeroplanes by explaining aircraft design in terms of aerodynamics, propulsion, land and water operation, and structural arrangement. The book has been updated to include major advances in aircraft design, propulsion and manufacture since it was first published in 1996.
The appendices include projects dealing with light aeroplanes, utility aeroplanes, subsonic transports, supersonic transports and strike and reconnaissance aircraft. Fully illustrated with photographs, diagrams and tables throughout.
