This low profile remote antenna, with female BNC connection, from Garmin will provide improved satellite coverage for your GPS unit while in flight.
This tiny remote antenna provides additional gain to your receiver and, when mounted & will give you complete 360 degree view of the sky. This will improve the tracking ability of the receiver and the DOP of your position fix.
It is important to note when installing your antenna, that GPS signals do not pass through metal and are attenuated (i.e. degraded) by other materials that may be located between the receiver antenna and the satellite. Due to the GPS satellites constantly moving, they can be located anywhere in the sky at anytime while you are tracking them.
