The aim of this book is to help the reader pass the PPL(A) Microlight examinations and also to provide a real understanding and recognition of the factors which influence safe flight. This new sixth edition continues to fulfil the aim to update where necessary. Particular attention has been paid to those aspects of air law where the microlight aeroplane may be operating under exemptions from the law as laid down in the Air Navigation Order. Such exemptions are unlikely to be covered in other publications on air law but they still require legal compliance and the pilot must have knowledge of them. An additional chapter has been added on Foot Launched Powered Flying machines (FLPFM). The revised edition of this comprehensive Flying and Ground Training Manual has been written to cover in detail the requirements for the Microlight Pilot examinations pertaining to: Air Legislation, Air Traffic Rules and Services, Pilot Navigation, Aviation Meteorology, Principles of Flight, Microlight Engines and Instruments, Flying Training and Progress Tests.
Air Law for Microlight Pilots is the first book to deal specifically with Air Law as it relates to pilots of microlights, gliders, balloons, paramotors, gyrocopters and other sport aviation pilots. Designed to enable to user to pass the relevant UK Private Pilot Licence (PPL) or National Private Pilot Licence (NPPL) air law examination, it will be equally invaluable for the qualified pilot seeking to update his or her knowledge of aviation law, flight rules and procedures. This book sets out to detail those parts of Aviation Law which are relevant to sports aviation (recreational) pilots, focusing in particular on microlight pilots where powered aircraft are concerned, explaining the detail of the subject in a commonsense way designed to help the reader learn.
Comprehensive, readable and illustrated throughout (including a full colour section), this book will become the standard reference for sports aviation law. It also includes comprehensive progress and revision questions and answers to help the reader consolidate his or her knowledge.

Passionate about Africa and always eager to travel, South African microlight pilots Mark Becker and Tjeerd Beens, will take you on a journey like no other. Join the two flying enthusiasts as they travel from Cape Town to the Fish River Canyon in Namibia. Africa's Grand Canyon and the second largest canyon system in the world.
Flying The Fish is a documentary style film, and a visual feast soaring over rarely seen geography and geology of Southern Africa and its vast uninhabited areas. It tests the bonds of friendship as the team face the dangers associated with unpredictable weather, solving unanticipated mechanical problems, and sleeping and surviving in the great open spaces of Africa.

This landing pattern computer is an easy to use popular plastic circular calculator. Pocket size, this calculator is only 100mm in diameter. Left hand patterns are on one side of the calculator, right hand patterns on the other. The desired runway heading is located in the runway window which automatically co-locates headings for cross-wind, down-wind and base legs. The aircraft heading can be set with the cursor on the outer compass rose enabling the pilot to select the most convenient circuit join method.
Contrasting yellow and black scales enhance clarity.
